Question by sexy: Water Purification?
I’m doing a science project on purifying water. I discovered that putting layers of sand, pebbles, and charcoal helped purify. WHY IS THIS????
THX!!!!PLZ ANSWERS!!!

becuse the fine grains of the sand help keep out the larger stuff and things.

    This is only mechanical purification. The process of eliminating the residues and other suspended particles in the water. It is like eleminating flies and mosquitoes from the air using screens on our windows and doors. Chemically, water is not really pure yet if only by this process. It only removes the turbidity of the water. The charcoal absobs bad odor of the water.
